Biological Identification

Biological identification represents a fast and very reliable tool to verify identity based on genetic information. At present, it is routinely applied in forensic genetics, and its importance has been rising in the recent several years also in connection with the need of authentication of eukaryote cell lines. Biological identification is based on genetic analysis during which polymorphic segments of genomic DNA are compared.

All methods related to biological identification have been well established and used for several years at GENERI BIOTECH. We have a fully equipped laboratory of cell cultures and two automatic sequenators (ABI PRISM® 3100-Avant Genetic Analyzer, Applied Biosystems) that operate on the principle of capillary electrophoresis and subsequent fluorescent detection.

Authentication of human cell lines is performed as standard, while we dispose of a database of STR profiles of numerous standard cell lines.

Other our service is represented by paternity outsourcing, designated for authorized experts in paternity determination who do not own laboratory equipment for molecular genetic testing.
