Cell Culture Applications

Cell cultures represent a standard in vitro model in biomedical research. Without the need of using laboratory animals, they allow for the complex study of cellular mechanisms, both under physiological and experimental conditions. Their application ranges from the study of metabolic routes in basic research to production of recombinant proteins in biotechnological or pharmaceutical industry.

The techniques of working with cell cultures have been well established and used at GENERI BIOTECH for many years. During this time, we have succeeded in establishing and standardizing a number of in vitro methodologies, which are now offered through our molecular services.

Our offer is focused on the preparation of model cell lines with stable increased expression of selected genes and eukaryotic expression systems for the production of recombinant proteins. Our experience in molecular cloning finds its application in this field.

Cytotoxicity testing of chemical compounds in vitro using two standard tests is another service offered: XTT test and neutral red test. Results evaluating the effect of tested compounds on viability and proliferation of the cells are provided in publication quality.

Authentication of cellular lines is offered to laboratories that work with cell cultures, as well as fast and reliable verification of cell cultures for the presence of mycoplasma from the cultivation medium and highly stable reagens to measure activity of luciferase enzyme.
