Competent Bacteria Escherichia coli

Competent bacteria are bacteria adapted for easier receiving of heterogeneous DNA. Such bacteria thus enable fast and highly efficient transformation of recombinant plasmids in molecular cloning or protein expression.

Chemical preparation of the competent bacteria is applied, achieving the competence rate of up to 10⁷cfu/µg of the plasmid pUC19.

Terms of delivery

Competent bacteria are dispatched by post on dry ice within 25 working days upon receipt of your purchase order.

New competent bacteria are always prepared; the shipment also contains an information leaflet describing the supplied strain and quality control certification. Upon delivery, it is recommended to store the competent bacteria at -70 °C. Upon respecting this storage temperature, the warranty period of 6 months is guaranteed.
