Molecular Cloning

Molecular cloning ranks among standard techniques of any established molecular biology laboratory. However, modern research frequently requires application of these techniques also in laboratories focused on completely different issues. Molecular cloning methods including PCR product cloning, DNA fragment recloning among plasmids or plasmid preparation for transfection or electroporation thus increasingly become especially supportive techniques in biomedical research. Although general awareness puts such techniques among routine and simple ones, in fact, their routine application requires more than mere existence of an incubator, restriction enzymes, competent bacteria and a plasmid isolation kit.
