RNA Oligonucleotides (Oligoribonucleotides)- siRNA-oligos (small interfering RNA) are short (containing approx. 21 bases) synthetic chains of dsRNA with 5´-d(TT) overlap. As part of the RNAi (RNA interference) mechanism, they are able to cause sequence-specific degradation of homologous mRNA.
- RNA-oligos with 3´DNA end - The entire chain except the last base at the end 3´ is formed by ribonucleotides; a deoxyribonucleotide is found at the end 3´.
- RNA-oligos with 3´RNA end - The entire chain is formed by ribonucleotides.
