Internal Positive Controls for qPCR

Internal positive control (IPC) for quantitative real-time PCR is a secondary artificial qPCR system that is used as an additional component, especially in detection of pathogens. In combination with the main detection qPCR system, it enables the user to distinguish a sample that seems negative due to PCR failure(for example, due to inhibition) from a really negative sample.

Two products are offered for these purposes:

Specific IPC

  • Specific internal positive control is a custom-made secondary qPCR system with a hydrolyzation probe that functions in connection with primers of the primary detection system and is added to the reaction as another PCR component (similarly as the buffer).

Universal Control (UCO)

  • Universal control is an independent secondary artificial real-time PCR system with a hydrolyzation probe and its own primers. Its sequence differs from known sequences; thanks to this fact, the universal control can be used as a positive control to quantify the majority of known sequences.

Terms of delivery

Internal positive controls are dispatched by post or mail-order service within 15 working days upon receiving your order. The controls are supplied in a solution and/or in the form of dry mixtures

applying what the user prepares 10x concentrated solution for direct use in qPCR.

How to place an order

Orders of specific IPC or UCO can be sent to the e-mail address ; please enter QPCR keyword in the e-mail subject; or by post to our address.

In order to prepare specific IPC, we need to know the sequence of the primers used by you.
