Standards for qPCR

Standards for quantitative PCR are cloned PCR products intended for quantification using real-time PCR. They are used mostly for absolute quantification to generate calibration curves or to calculate efficiency in relative quantification setting.

Standards are supplied for our qPCR sets for gene expression, but also for any PCR system of the customer.

All produced standards are quality checked by sequencing. However, sequencing results are delivered only with standards for custom-made qPCR sets.

Standards are dispatched by post or mail-order service on ice within 10 working days upon receiving your order.

Standards are supplied in the form of plasmid solution in low EDTA TE buffer:

• 10⁸ copies/µl in low EDTA TE buffer - 100 µl
• Dilution range - 10⁸-10⁴ copies/µl in low EDTA TE buffer - in units of 100 µl

When ordering a standard to ready-to-use qPCR set, it is sufficient to provide its name in the purchase order. When ordering a standard to custom-made qPCR system, the way of executing the purchase order must always be consulted.

Requirements for the materials

At least 10 µl of PCR product are required to prepare a standard for the custom-made qPCR set; information about necessary input quality of the PCR product can be found in requirements for PCR product quality.

qPCR standards are intended primarily for use in real-time PCR, and therefore it is assumed that the inserts will be up to approx. 500 bp long. In the case of longer inserts, it will be up to individual consultation whether or not PCR product cloning can be carefully considered, which falls in the "plasmid construct cloning" service.
