Our product line Life Sciences comprises the most commonly used products for molecular biology (such as DNA isolation kits, PCR mastermixes, one-step reverse transcription kits etc.) including products specialized for real-time PCR. Our Life Sciences line comprises some services for R&D as well.
Our typical partners are end-users of the products (customers mostly in CZ and SK), business partners and distributors. We are looking for business partners and/or distributors worldwide who can fit the portfolio of our products, either the whole or a part of it, to their sales strategy (see here).
Authentication of cell lines Using a forensic kit, selected autosomal polymorphisms are amplified in a multiplex PCR. The polymorphic fragments of DNA are then separated in capillary electrophoresis. The same method is applied as well in forensic testing.
Human Cell Line Authentication on LabCard LabCards are intended for simple transport of a cell sample or genomic DNA of human cell lines. Samples applied to the LabCard do not need to be transported chilled. STR analysis is performed as part of the service.
Plasmid amplification and isolation Plasmid amplification is provided in Escherichia coli bacteria cells. Plasmid linearization by restriction cleavage can be ordered as a follow-up service. Such an operation is recommended especially when the plasmid is used as a PCR standard. Amplified plasmids are delivered either in midiprep or maxiprep quantities. Typical yields are stated below.
Mycoplasma detection – biochemical test The test is intended to detect mycoplasma in cell culture media.
Plasmid linearization If the plasmid DNA is intended for use as a PCR template, it is recommended to use it as a linear DNA. A circular plasmid mostly has a supercoiled conformation, where the target sequence is less accessible for primers and for polymerase.
Plasmid verification This service is recommended when it is necessary to verify whether a correct sequence was cloned in, whether plasmids were not misidentified (mistaken by accident), or to verify that there are no errors in the plasmid sequence.
Long-term storage of bacterial stocks The service is complementary for plasmids prepared in GENERI BIOTECH. It includes storage of a bacterial culture containing the plasmid. The standard storage period is one year.
Mycoplasma detection – qualitative PCR The method involves isolating DNA from a sample of a conditioned eukaryotic cell medium. Subsequently, amplification and detection of a highly conserved region encoding 16S ribosomal RNA specific for mycoplasmas is performed by real-time PCR. This method is used for the qualitative determination of mycoplasmas in a sample.
