ROX-BBQ650 is a real-time PCR dual-labeled probe with the fluorophore ROX and the quencher BBQ650. The latter can be used as an alternative to the quencher BHQ2 due to its broader absorption spectrum and higher stability. The probe is most commonly used as a Taqman-type hydrolysis probe providing highly sensitive and specific detection of target DNA. It is suitable for multiplex analyses with low background and high signal intensity and is compatible with a wide range of qPCR instruments.

gb OneStep RT-qPCR Kit gb OneStep RT-qPCR Kit falls into a group of TaqMan Real-Time PCR Master Mixes. It provides cDNA synthesis in one-step. The product is intended for reverse transcription (RT) and real-time PCR (qPCR) performed in one step (in one reaction), i.e. onestep RT-qPCR. No additional instrumentation is required.
Why choose alternative dyes instead of "genuine" dyes? First, they are cheaper, and second, they can give the same results. Another reason is that the number of suppliers who can provide modified oligonucleotides is restricted - only a patent or a licence owner is usually allowed to produce them.
