Kit for isolation of DNA from microorganisms

The kit enables isolation of microbial DNA from pellet of bacterial cells, yeasts and fungi. It is possible to use it for genomic DNA isolation from different types of tissues of both human and animal origin. High DNA yields, reproducible results and simple working method are guaranteed.

Principle of the isolation kit

  • Cell lysis is reached by mechanical disruption using beating beads and followed by incubation of the particular sample with Proteinase K and solutions with a higher content of chaotropic ions.
  • DNA isolation is performed on the silica membrane of the column.
  • Specific conditions appropriate for binding DNA onto a membrane are achieved by ethanol added to lysate.
  • Consequent treatment by two types of buffer results in removing impurities in the first step and eluting pure genomic DNA in the next step (ratio A260/A280 1.70 to 1.90).
