Environmental Responsibility
GENERI BIOTECH s.r.o. systematically monitors its environmental and energy performance with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact of its operations. Energy consumption and related greenhouse gas emissions are monitored and evaluated in accordance with the GHG Protocol methodology.
The assessment includes direct emissions (Scope 1) from natural gas consumption and indirect emissions (Scope 2) associated with purchased electricity. Energy data are continuously monitored through the building management system, which enables ongoing collection and evaluation of energy consumption data.
The company’s laboratory and production facility was completed in 2024 and designed with a strong focus on energy efficiency and optimized operation of technological equipment. The building uses heat recovery in the ventilation system and LED lighting throughout the facility.
Environmental Indicators (2025)
| Indicator | Value |
| Total annual energy consumption | 965 MWh |
| Carbon footprint (Scope 1 + Scope 2) | 308 t CO₂e / year |
| Carbon intensity of the building | 78 kg CO₂e / m² / year |
| Total floor area | 3,936 m² |
The energy performance of the facility corresponds to the characteristics of a biotechnology laboratory environment with high requirements for cooling and controlled conditions. Compared to benchmark values for laboratory and biotechnology facilities, the specific energy consumption is at the lower end of the typical range.
Our Principles for Responsible Operations
Energy Efficiency
We design and operate our laboratory and production facilities with a focus on energy efficiency. Energy consumption is monitored and opportunities for optimization are continuously evaluated.
Responsible Operations
In operating our laboratories and technological equipment, we aim to minimize environmental impacts and comply with relevant environmental standards.
Continuous Improvement
Environmental indicators are regularly monitored and analyzed. Based on these data, we identify opportunities to further improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The data correspond to the first full year of operation of the building (2025).
