The method involves isolating DNA from a sample of a conditioned eukaryotic cell medium. Subsequently, amplification and detection of a highly conserved region encoding 16S ribosomal RNA specific for mycoplasmas is performed by real-time PCR. This method is used for the qualitative determination of mycoplasmas in a sample.
Using a forensic kit, selected autosomal polymorphisms are amplified in a multiplex PCR. The polymorphic fragments of DNA are then separated in capillary electrophoresis. The same method is applied as well in forensic testing.
LabCards are intended for simple transport of a cell sample or genomic DNA of human cell lines. Samples applied to the LabCard do not need to be transported chilled. STR analysis is performed as part of the service.
